The road to the 2020 Kentucky Derby is getting closer and more exciting as Derby trails have started to roll out this month. Four Kentucky Derby prep races were done, and horses who made it will earn a sure entry in the Run For The Roses. One of the seasoned horse trainers has sent the most number of entries for the Kentucky Derby and the Triple Crown racers is Todd Pletcher. He has been working hard in hopes of bagging another title this year. In fact, his horses are among the strong Kentucky Derby bets with high odds of winning the Triple Crown title this year.

Pletcher also sent Portos to compete in the 2020 Kentucky Derby and Triple Crown races. This horse racer is bred by Wertheimer and Frere and ridden by his jockey, Jose Lezcano. He had accomplished five racing shows since last year and tallied total earnings of $93,900.

 

Portos underwent rigorous training to compete in Maiden Special Weight races, but his first three attempts were unsuccessful. Although he wasn’t able to make it in his initial tries, he continued to saddle up until last December 13, 2019, and won first place in the Maiden Special Weight that took place at Aqueduct. In the same venue, he competed in the Withers Stakes last February 1, 2020, where he landed in third place.

Market Analysis is the last entry of Todd Pletcher to the 2020 Kentucky Derby. This horse racer was bred last February 6, 2017, and owned by China Horse Club and WinStar Family, LLC. His jockey is John R. Velasquez.

 

Besides, the Kentucky Derby is his first stakes race event after he won the Maiden Special Weight last January 25, 2020, at Gulfstream Park. Pletcher is hoping that Market Analysis will win the Derby title in his first try.
